关于澳大利亚网络兲朝化的一些差异和分析

Ausfalian here. Just my A$0.02:
1) Australia is a deeply conservative country. This may be of surprise to our foreign friends, and indeed a lot of my fellow Aussies. Our country has suffered from Nanny-statism for a long time now, and as in the UK, it is strongly supported by aspects of the Left, false "conservatives" and fundamentalist Christians, of which there is a large population in Australia.
2) The Australian population, having started off as a military-colony built on convict slave-labour, is very good at complaining about things but generally never does anything about it. In the old days, if you stood up against the powers-that-be, you'd end up summarily flogged. This has led to a kind of fatalism in the Australian psyche, as well as a defensive blindness. I wish I had a dollar for everytime I've heard someone say "It'll never get through," "Don't worry - she'll be right mate!"
3) The majority of Australians don't care and will never care about censorship, or ideas like "freedom of speech" or "liberty". As long as we have football, beer and our deluded feelings of national importance, we'll just stfu and gbtw when the government tells us to.
4) Only Australian members of internet-culture give a damn about the censorship, but our voice in Australian politics is virtually non-existent. So we have to throw ourselves at the feet of our fellow-internet-denizens. Any exposure you can give our battle against the filter is more useful than you can ever imagine- nothing causes more butthurt in Australia than criticism of our culture from overseas. That, and threats to our tourism industry. *edit formatting
还是挺无奈的。。。
